Fire at Wimmer's home in Rib Mountain

RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis (WSAU) The home of Ron and Joan Wimmer -- the parents of NASCAR driver Scott Wimmer -- was destroyed by fire in Rib Mountain last night.

It happened around 7pm at 4202 Hummingbird Lane. Firefighters say the home was fully engulfed. Everyone at home made it out safely.

Firefighters were monitoring the scene for hot spots and flare ups last night. They'll begin an investigation into the cause starting today.

Ron and Scott Wimmer are co-owners of State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain. And they are preparing to host their biggest race of the season on Thursday.
