MILWAUKEE (WSAU) The year is off to a busy start at Wisconsin’s largest airport. Milwaukee’s Mitchell International had a record January with over 697,000 passengers going in-and-out. That’s 43-percent more than the previous January, at a time when the number of passengers nationally dropped by four-tenths-of-a-percent.
Mitchell says its airlines have scheduled more flights. Also, fares have gone down since Southwest began flying of Mitchell last fall. The average fare in Milwaukee was 60-dollars less than the national average during the third quarter of last year.
